How can I use Writing Coach?
Use Writing Coach to support your instruction for argumentative/opinion, informational, and response to literature essays. Our Teacher Resources are designed to be used in conjunction with Writing Coach so you and your students get the most out of the online experience. You can also use Writing Coach to complement another writing curriculum.
Writing Coach allows you to monitor and give feedback on each student’s progress. Prior to sending drafts to you, Writing Coach analyzes student writing and provides constructive comments. Once students send their drafts for your feedback, Writing Coach provides you with suggested comments that you can accept, delete, or edit; you may also write your own comments. After students incorporate your feedback and submit their final drafts, our built-in rubric provides seamless grading functionality. Learn more about Feedback and Grading in Writing Coach.
What is the Writing Coach experience like for students?
Once you assign a Writing Project, your students will work through the tool to complete each phase of writing. Students receive tips every step of the way, as well as personalized feedback on their writing. Writing Coach breaks down the writing process into manageable pieces, motivating and guiding students to successful completion.
How can I monitor student progress?
The Writing Projects details page enables you to monitor class or individual progress. At a glance, you can view the number of students in a given stage.
